Wow! I am overwhelmed with all the positive support for my journey. Thanks for joining me! I look forward to a unique and wonderful time.
I'm bursting out of my skin I'm so happy. Already I've gotten my hair cut an colored and have lost some of those awful stress pounds. Yeah!
This morning my beloved pets woke me way too early by walking across my chest. Back and forth, back and forth they went with a definite agenda in mind: Food! Padding to their kitty kibble, I surveyed my home. It struck me what a crazy thing I was doing. How could I possibly get prepared in time? What did I need to do to get ready? I took a deep breath and made a mental list...the hard copy will be coming soon.
At the top of my list was the need for storage. Today I acquired two storage units of 10' by 10' each. The special deal was half price for the first four months, so two 10' by 10' units were cheaper than the 10' by 20'. They credit you for the rental truck, too. I paid three months in advance. I'm committed. My classroom items will be the first to grace those metal walls. This week will be clean-up and give-away time at school. Hopefully I'll be done with that by this Friday. Home stuff...that's in the works.
Next, I need the blasted RV! I went to several places where the people were happy to say that my search would be fruitless. I bid them 'good day' and drove away determined to continue undaunted. My best bet seems to be online purchase through Ebay Motors. In fact, I just made a bid on one. Here's the RV I want. The gentleman selling it has been very helpful, but, of course, he wants more money (who doesn't). At this moment, I am the highest bidder. I'll have to wait two days for the auction to end. If you know how Ebay works, this is risky. Please pray hard because I don't have much time!
Today was also special because I got to see both of my brothers, David and Eric. They are supportive of my cross country venture. My heart was happy to hug my nieces, Imelda and Erika, and my nephew, Howard. I haven't spent enough time with them and they are growing up fast. What's funny is, I think I might actually get more opportunities to see them now, even though I'm leaving California for the summer, perhaps longer.
As I was writing this, I got a lovely instant message from my dear friend, Margaret. She has been in the same online master's program with me. Since she lives in California also, we are discussing the possibility of sharing this trip either as a caravan or together in the RV. Either way, it's a wonderful addition to the trip. Joy is doubled when it's shared.
Tippy told me she wants to make a video before we leave. She is particularly proud of her cute twitchy tail. Just for her: Coming to your Computer! Tippy's Tail Twitching starring Tippy and friends. You'll laugh! You'll snicker! You'll ask for treats!

Too cool go for it!
ReplyDeletePrayers on the way to hopefully secure you that sweet ride! Yeah, Adventure!
ReplyDeleteDiane - I started to post a comment last night, and my internet went out! I'm with ya, honey! You've already inspired me, and you've not even filled the RV you WILL be acquiring with gas yet!! If your route takes you near Cleveland, please know that you have a driveway, a guest room, and some kitty friends for your clan to meet . . . well, ours are kind of antisocial, but maybe they could look at each other through the windows.
ReplyDeleteWill be praying about that RV - it's a honey!! Know the Lord has lots of special things planned for you . . . He goes before you, without a doubt. You are in my prayers! Can't wait to get started on this adventure! You'll do it!! Looking forward to Tippy's Tail video!
We're so excited for you, Diane. Will miss you, neighbor. Have a glorious trip! Love, Sonja and Howard
